The first shaving soap from Dittmar came onto the market in 1972. It was offered under the “Wild boar brand”. That was a marketing faux pas. The (tallow) soap itself was good, but unfortunately not enough of it was purchased. At the end of the 1970s, the fashion arose to avoid using animal ingredients if possible. Rainer Dittmar developed a purely plant-based shaving soap and marketed it under the brands Golddachs in Europe and Rivivage in the USA. This then became the commercial success, on which the current development of our new products under the is still building.
